easy breezy

Hooray it's Friday...although I work tomorrow so really it's more like...hooray it's Thursday!  Usually  I'm lucky and work Mon-Fri...although it doesn't really matter that I get the "weekends" off because J works the weekends...but when I do work the occasional Saturday my whole week gets thrown off.  Like I literally feel like a zombie all week and don't know what day is what and it's super annoying.  You know what else is super annoying...it's Tax Free weekend in Texas which mean work for the next two days is going to be full of high school and college girls that are super annoying with back to school shopping.  The plus of back to school shopping is that I can go to Target after work and get notebooks and pens and crayons (that I don't need because really what am I go to do with MORE crayons...I have like a huge stash) and I can snag things like hangers and bed sheets on sale because it's "back to school" time.  Oh the joys of being a grown up...who isn't really a grown up...you understand.  And I feel like this outfit is the perfect non grown up outfit.  It's kinda like if you told your 4 year old to pick out something to wear and this is what she came up with...which is why this outfit it pretty much the best thing ever!!  And if you agree with me then don't forget to head over HERE to nominate me for the SA Fashion Awards "Blogger of the Year"...it would be so amazing to be nominated and I would of course love you always!!  Thanks and happy Friday!!!

cheetah and kelly green

So while doing a little digging on the biggest trends for fall I noticed that one of my fave patterns is basically owning the fall/winter season...as it should...and if you couldn't guess by this amazing swing dress it.is.cheetah...or leopard...or basically animal print.  Honestly to me cheetah is a neutral, like wearing black...and while yes, some cheetah can totally be a fashion don't, if you do it right it is just perfection.   Plus I made sure to pair it with another big trend for fall...kelly green!!  Aren't these free people booties are the cutest?!?  And P.S. Henri, being the fashionista dog that he is...also loves cheetah...I mean can't you tell by his expressions lol!  Happy Wednesday loves!!

turquoise and olive...

Good Morning loves!  Monday came way to fast...I feel like I need another like 2.5 days of lounging.   I really wish I could just be a stay at home dog mom.  I can picture it now...early morning walks with Henri, followed by breakfast on the balcony.  Days spent blogging, and picture taking, and headband making...finding new fun recipes to try for dinner and teaching H new tricks.  I mean that sounds like the life to me...maybe if I dream hard enough it will happen...but in the mean time you can help one of my dreams come true by nominating me for the San Antonio Fashion Awards "Blogger of the Year"...just click HERE!!!  I mean, don't you want to see more of H and I rockin' our blue steel on the blog...yeah I thought so!!

kimonos and flares

Well friends it's Monday...and can I just say that I'm happy it's a new week.  My Winter (aka Summer in Texas) slump has taken over and I'm just no fun to be around.  I'm bored, and restless, and ready for a change that can't come fast enough.  So I'm hoping that this week will bring something new, something exciting, or at least a day that isn't a heat index of over 100 degrees...like a storm would be so great right now!  The only thing saving me right now is kimonos...they are a girl with fat arms dream in the summertime because you all know I won't be caught dead with just a tank top on.  And as much as I would love to be rockin' a sweater or a cute cardi I would literally be a puddle on the ground, but a kimono covers the arms, but most of the time is lightweight enough to not make you want to take a shower the second you step outside.  So thank you world for kimonos and lets hope this week is better than last.  Happy Monday!!

tie dye and florals...

Long time no see!  I know I give you the same excuses every time I haven't blogged in a bit, but you know how it is...life.  Crazy few months over here.  We moved to a new place, J was in Germany for pretty much all of June, and it's summer in texas...which as we all know means "winter" for me...like you don't leave your house unless you absolutely have to because it's just too freaking hot.

Some of the girls at work like to joke about how often I complain about summer.  Basically every day that I work I'm talking about it and if you read my blog then you know pretty much every blog post prob mentions it.  And as much as July is slowly melting me, there is a teeny bit of hope because fall clothes are slowly starting to arrive.  Now of course normal "texans" will not wear this stuff until like December but I am already incorporating it into my wardrobe.  The secret is just turning the air down really low so it feels like fall!!  I can't even explain to you the sense of hope and happiness I feel when I see a suede bootie, or an olive sweater, or a faux fur collared coat.  It makes my heart so full and considering all of the craziness that has been going on in the world (which will be a whole different blog post) I welcome anything that can bring a smile to my face right now and if that just happens to be navy suede booties then so be it.

But seeing as it's 104 degrees the closest I can get to fall is this outfit...cute floral shorts, a tie dye slouchy sweatshirt, and my new fave plum flats.  They kind of are like little elf shoes which makes me love them even more!!  And do you know what else I would LOVE???  If you would take a minute to nominate me, Melis Lauren, for Fashion Blogger of the Year for the San Antonio Fashion Awards!!  It would mean so much to me and I would love you forever!!  Just click HERE to nominate me...it's super easy and would be such an honor for me!!  Thanks loves...you really are the best!!!

white and ruffles...

Happy St. Patrick's Day...and no I'm not wearing green because I'm not even close to being Irish, but kisses to those of you that are!  I am however wearing white, which is something I rarely ever wear...mostly because of my fear of spilling something on it.  I'm kind of a very messy person and an all white top is just too much for me...but when we got this one in at AL I had to have it.  It was like the perfect twist on a classic button down with the wider boatneck and flowy ruffles on the bottom...I do love a good ruffle...so it became mine and I love it paired with my fave Free People navy flares.  Add a little hat and it's carefree boho perfection!
