patterns and packing...

Hello loves!  Is anyone else freaking out that we're already a week into March?  Seriously time needs to slooooooowwww down!!!  Posts are going to be a bit sporadic over the next couple of months because we're going to be moving to a new apt!  Hooray for more space...boo to cleaning and packing!  Seriously moving is the worst, but I get bored easily so it's time for a change!  I will miss my grey parking garage wall though...it does make for lovely blog pics!!

i feel nothing...

Happy Friday Loves!  I know it's been a week since I've posted, but a lot has been going on...you see it's been one week since I woke up at the crack of dawn to have my ENT numb my whole face, making my throat feel like I couldn't swallow my own spit, have a tiny tube with a baby capsule size ballon on it shoved up my nostrils that expanded and contracted making all the sinus tissue in my face crunch and crackle all while feeling crazy pressure fill my face.  Then when it was over I spent hours swapping cotton balls from my nose that wouldn't stop bleeding and eating french fries and ice cream...and then...the most magical thing happened...I.FELT.NOTHING.

You guys...for the past 7 plus years I have lived every day with pain in my face...as I talked about in my last post.  Horrible sinus pain that literally I just learned to live with and grew accustomed to feeling like poop every single day...and now...I feel nothing.  My face hasn't had a single pain.  I can take a full deep breath with my nose, something I wasn't even aware that I wasn't doing before.  My neck and throat that always felt raw and swollen feels normal.  And the headaches that constantly lingered don't exist.  The other night the weather was changing and I knew rain was coming and when I woke up it was damp and gross and normally that night/morning I would have felt like total shit with tons of face pressure and nope...nothing.  Who knew that feeling nothing could be the best feeling in the world!  I am so happy that I finally got this done and that I  found a doctor that could take away my stupid face pain.  He's like a magical unicorn doctor!!

So this big fat smile on my face is because this is my new normal and it's the best!!  Plus my outfit it's totes adores so that helps too!  Have a great weekend everyone!!

sinuses are not black and white...

Another weekend...gone too soon...and here we are again with Monday.  So want to know a random fun fact about me?  Well it's not actually fun...it kinda sucks actually...my name is Melis, and I have sinusitis.  What is this weird word you ask?  Basically it means I get sinus infections...a lot...like a lot a lot.  This all started probably about 6 years ago.  I would get horrible pain in my face...like someone just punched me and then ran over my face with their truck...like a big truck.  And every time I went to my dr. he would do the same thing...look in my nose, look in the throat and say, "yeah it's really red and swollen, you have a sinus infection"...ugh no shit dude.  It got to the point where I would have them multiple times a month...and I tried all the meds and nose sprays and nothing seemed to help.
And then I moved to Texas...and little did I know that San Antonio is like the WORST PLACE EVER for people with sinus and allergy problems.  Probably should have done some research on that one because all of a sudden I kept having all of these problems I never had before...headaches, and rashes, and cracking in my face...yes I could literally hear it cracking...and the worse part is I had just gotten used to feeling like shit at some point pretty much every day.  It was rare that in the past 6 years I've had one day where I have felt good all day long.  I basically have just been living with all of these symptoms and it's become my new normal...which sucks, because who wants to live like that?
Well the good news it that I finally found an ENT here that gets it and after having a new CT scan and seeing how messed up my face actually is, this week I'm having a fun little procedure done called balloon sinuplasty.  So basically I'm relying on some balloons to fix my horribly jacked up face and while there is no guarantee that this will help, fingers crossed this will be exactly what I need.  And then when you see me smiling in my blog pics you will know that I don't secretly feel like total shit and like someone is kicking my skull in.  I can't even imagine what a "normal" face pain free day feels like, but hopefully on friday I will find out...and celebrate with champs and cupcakes of course!!  Until then, you can enjoy my adorbs black and white outfit with H, who also has allergies, but that's a story for another day!  Happy Monday loves!!

plaid and poufs...

Three things I love about this look...
1) The fact that I could eat like a dozen cupcakes, 14 cheeseburgers, 11 pizzas and hide like 8 puppies under this dress and no one would know because it's so big and awesome.
2) An overly flowly dress needs and overly obnoxious necklace...I'm all go big or go home...at least I think that's what you're supposed to do when you live in Texas.
3) My hair has a lovely little pouf that shows off my blonde and purple...it's like I'm a whale in this huge dress complete with a little hair spout...go me!

crazy hair don't care...

Happy Monday kids!  I'm sure you're all bright eyed and bushy tailed after gorging yourself on beer and nachos during that stupid sport game that took over my insta feed.  Thank god that is finally over!    And I wasn't going to post the pic above because of my ridiculous wind hair, but figured since you're probably hung over you could use a good laugh.  I swear sometimes it impossible to take blog pics where I live.  Because I'm on a hill it is like 10 times windier and makes it very difficult for the hair and outfit to cooperate at the same time.   So I left my crazy hair for all of you to enjoy...you're welcome!  And I'm really hoping this week goes better than last week.  It is going to be sunny and in the 70s so that definitely means things are looking up.  Plus is Valentine's week...which means pressies for me!!!  Also if anyone has any hubby present ideas I'm all ears...boys are just so hard to buy things for.  Maybe I'll just stick to getting Henri a present...he loves anything I give him:)
