peanut butter energy balls

Happy Monday pretties!  Big news today...in my quest to accomplish #DryJanuary I have already failed.  Yep that's right...I lasted 13 days before I was like, wait why am I doing this I just really want some wine, so I'm going to have some because I do what I want, moments.  But thankfully I am not afraid of failure.  I fail all them time, multiple times, and it doesn't scare me because I learn every time I fail.  And while I did not accomplish my goal of no alcohol for 31 days, I made it to 13 and learned that maybe trying to change all aspects of how you live your life all at once is not the smartest idea because you pretty much will fail at something.

On a postive note, I am still doing my 30 day yoga challenge and haven't missed a day yet.  I think it was the perfect choice to jump start working out because while it isn't super intense in regards to sweating like crazy and feeling so sore you can't move, I can already notice that little things that I was struggling with on day 1 I'm already better at so I'm definitely getting stronger and it feels soooooo good to stretch and just breathe out all that bad energy!

And speaking of energy, I have also still been eating healthy, but I've noticed that since I haven't been eating as many carbs, I am super tired.  And while I would love a mid day cookie for a snack, I can't justify so much sugar so I made these yummy Peanut Butter Energy Balls and they are perfect for a healthier mid day snack that also gives me a little energy boost!  Plus they are so easy to make!!

Grab these 5 ingredients:
*1 Cup of Old Fashion Oats
*2/3 Cup of Peanut Butter (I use creamy)
*1/2 Cup of Chocolate Chips (I used semi-sweet but dark would be delish too)
*1/2 Cup Ground Flax Seed
*2 TBS Honey

Then just throw all the ingredients in a bowl, mix them up, and pop the bowl in the fridge for 30 min. Then roll those balls as big or little as you want and enjoy!  They'll last about a week in the fridge, but honestly if you're like me they'll be gone way sooner than that, because they taste like cookie dough, but they're healthy so yay!!!
